Dufftown manager Paul Lamberton has arranged two pre-season friendlies at Westburn Park as he tries to get his side up to speed ahead of the new season.

The first visitors to Westburn will be Newmachar United.  The Aberdeenshire side were formally accepted into the Scottish Junior FA at the Association's recent Annual General Meeting and will start the new season in Division Two of the North Region.  This match will take place on Saturday 24 July with a kick off time of 2.00pm.

The second visitors to Westburn will be RAF Lossiemouth.  The airmen, who will also play in Division Two of the North Region next season, will visit Westburn Park on Tuesday 27 July for a match which will kick off at 7.30pm.

Dufftown have been handed a blow before the start of the new season with the news that last season's first choice goalkeeper Martin Taylor has left the club.

The 22 year old shotstopper who made 38 appearances for the club last season has decided to join Scottish Highland League side Forres Mechanics.

Dufftown manager Paul Lamberton said: 'We are disappointed to lose Martin but respect his wish to try to test himself at a higher level.  We have a number of options available with regard to replacing him and we will use the training sessions and the friendly matches that we have lined up later this month to try and identify a suitable replacement.'

Everyone at Dufftown Football Club was saddened to hear of the recent death of Grant Duncan.

Grantie was a stalwart player for the club during the 1970s and was a huge help to the club in the years after it joined the Junior ranks helping out with various odd jobs at Westburn Park.

The opening fixtures for season 2010-2011 have been released.  Dufftown will start the season with a home league match against Deveronside on Tuesday 3 August and will then travel to play Hall Russell United in the Grill League Cup on Saturday 7 August.  League Secretary Jack Whitehead has produced fixtures for all clubs up until the end of September.

Dufftown Football Club has today received confirmation that season 2010-2011 will start on either Monday 2 or Tuesday 3 August.  It's expected that a fixture list for the opening couple of months of the season will be published in the next 10 days and of course you will read about Dufftown's fixtures first on this site just as soon as they are available.

Dufftown have been handed a home tie against Superleague side Longside in the first round of next season's Inter Regional Cup.  Should Dufftown progress then they face a trip to the winner of the first round match between Buchanhaven Hearts and RAF Lossiemouth.
